New York Golf Tournament at Trump National in Westchester a Sold-out Success in Legal Community

Charitable golf tournament unites lawyers and business leaders on the course 

ORLANDO, FL (July 26, 2011) – The Lawyer Charity Challenge, the legal industry’s first national charitable golf tournament, today announces that its tournament on Monday, July 18 at Trump National Golf Club in Westchester was sold out with a full field of lawyers and other legal professionals. The Lawyer Charity Challenge provides a multi-tournament venue for the most influential and prestigious law firms, corporate counsel and global leaders and their clients to compete against one another at prestigious golf venues. This “invitation only” event is a unique opportunity that helps build business, establish relationships and support the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children charity.

First-place winners, with a score of 67, were Jared Wolovnick and Malcolm Anderson, who are now both eligible to compete in the 2010-2011 championship tournament, which will be held at Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Club & Lodge, November 6-7, 2011.  Wolovnick is an attorney with Versick Analyitics, ISO, in New Jersey. Anderson is an attorney with a New York law firm and member of the New York Lawyers Golf Association.

Second-place winners, with a score of 69, were Thomas Fleming, a partner with Kaye Scholer, LLP, and Craig Marson, a principal with Stonegate Wealth Management.

The sold-out tournament included 80 registered players consisting of lawyers from top firms such as: Hunton & Williams, Fulbright & Jaworski, Duane Morris, Dewey & LaBeoeuf, Kaye Scholer, Wilson Sonsini, Venable, Pryor Cashman, Bracewell & Guliani, as well as corporate lawyers from Mastercard International, LG Electronics USA, New York Life Insurance Company, Morgan Stanley, CA Technologies, and Samsung Electronics, to name a few. Sponsors for the event included LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters, Kroll, EMC, Wave Software, Encore Discovery Solutions – an Epiq Company, eTERA Consulting, Deloitte, Digital Reef, Planet Data, iDiscovery Solutions, Gurkha Cigars,  Glenmont Group and AriZona Tea.

The Lawyer Charity Challenge presents a unique and valued goodwill opportunity to support a national charity, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Jeff Muddell, vice president of Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation, accepted more than $10,000 in  charitable donations on the hospital’s behalf.
